About Me

Hi and welcome to my blog! I am Yvette, a Dutch girl that has caught the travel bug. I love to discover new places, meet people, learn about cultures and enjoy the freedom that traveling brings.

After graduating from my Masters in Sustainability Science and Policy in 2013, I decided to go backpacking solo for 8 months in Asia and Oceania. It was my first big trip and it was such an amazing experience. It changed my view and understanding of the world.

After that trip I moved to Brussels for my job and to keep the international vibe that I love so much. I started as intern and worked my way up to senior project manager in a European non-profit helping business improve sustainability. It has been a great experience to work with leading companies and the best team I could wish for. Yet travelbug came up again.

Together with my boyfriend Alex we have decided to give it all up to travel again! ​We quit our jobs, cancelled our appartment, sold the furniture and bought two ticket to the other side of the world! Follow our adventures here as we backpack through Asia, New Zealand and South America!
